VEReF Development Network (VEReF) in collaboration with Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR)

VEReF Development Network (VEReF) in collaboration with Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR) with funding support from Co-Impact continues to implement project activities in the Oti Region towards enhancing access to Primary Health Care (PHC). Using the Gender Model Family (GMF) as a strategic tool, VEReF has completed the implementation of targeted community-based education and sensitisation on Primary Health Care in the Kadjebi and the Guan Districts of the Oti Region. Beneficiary communities are Likpe Agbozome, Likpe Bakua, Likpe Bala, Likpe Nkwanta, and Likpe Todome in the Guan District, and Kadjebi Central, Kadjebi Zongo, Asato, Menusuo, and Okanta in the Kadjebi District. The key objectives including raising awareness on the essential health services available at the CHPS level; and community members especially women, children, and other marginal and vulnerable groups understand NHIS, including benefit packages, roles and responsibilities of citizens under the scheme. Also, providing the understanding of the referral system is one of the objectives. Between March and May 2025, the three modules completed are:

  • Feedback and Accountability Mechanisms in Ghana’s Healthcare System for Community Engagement
  • Awareness Creation on Socioeconomic and Cultural Barriers Underlying Gender Inequalities in Health
  • Patient Rights Charter
